Chris King
Chris King continues to have a very successful season, with double clears all round at Aston-Le-Walls. As a result Chris was thrilled to record two wins on Billy Bounce and GI Master Caster, a 2nd on Idol Hero and a 4th on Miss Curuso in the OI sections.
Chris’s winning streak continued at Tweseldown where Billy Buzz produced one of the best dressage scores in the OI, to head this section too. This is Billy Buzz’s second win this season already so must be one to watch!
We were very proud see Chris in the Horse and Hound (May 16th) Aston-Le-Walls report, where he can be clearly seen sporting our very smart SUCCEED saddlecloth.
Don’t miss the latest edition of British Eventing Life too which features a great article on Chris King, his eventers and racehorse schooling in Lambourn.
Bill Levett
Athleet V did a great dressage TEST at Aston-le-Walls, being in the top few with a 26.8, followed by a double clear inside the time and securing him a win in the Intermediate. Shannondale Titan recorded a super dressage score of 19, which was 6 points in front of 2nd place. However, Bill decided to withdraw from the cross-country to keep the bigger picture in mind as both horses now prepare for the CCI*** at Saumur, France.
Silkstone and Improvise were both entered for the headline World Class Qualifier CIC*** at Chatsworth, and both ran well finishing 6th (his best result to date) and 16th respectively. Bill said the cross-country was very big and technical so with both horses going clear he was pleased.
With all the travelling coming up for the spring 3DE’s, Bill will be relying on SUCCEED to help support his horses’ digestion and to keep their appetites healthy.
UPDATE- Bill and Shannondale Titan win the CCI*** at Saumur with the only double clear, and a full 12 penalties in front of second place. Well done Bill and his Team!!
Lissa & Lucinda Green
Lissa continues to have a good season, proving to be very educational for her younger horses and CTS So What moving up to advanced level. She also adds another horse to her string of eventers, Glencrue Destiny; a horse who has had some time off due to injury but will be heading to Houghton CCI* next.
Lucinda and Cry Freedom will be contesting the CIC*** at Houghton, after a promising start to the season.
William Fox-Pitt
SUCCEED is now endorsed by multiple Olympian and World No.1 event rider. William has several horses on SUCCEED this season and tells us “I have used SUCCEED on my horses with great success. It has proved particularly good for maintaining condition and general well-being in some of my more stressed and tense horses. I also find it promotes appetite which is a real benefit as so many horses tend to stop eating as they get fitter”
Equine Digestive Health Talks
Our Newmarket and Brentwood talks were very well received and attended by many riders and owners from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Dr Ken Hill, former head of Equine Research at the University of Limerick was our guest speaker and gave us a fascinating insight into practical feeding of our competition horses and in particular what to look for in feed quality. Dr Hill also discussed mycotoxins and the negative impact these can have on our horses’ health, and ultimately performance.
Thank you to support from Horse Requisites, Newmarket, Dr David Platt of Platt, Murrell and Cunningham Equine Vets, Dr Ken Hill and of course all those who attended and promoted such interesting discussion!
The next talks are being planned for the Berkshire area in July so watch this space for more information!
