Team Rosanna 2016/2017 Pre-Season Update

The 2016/17 Driving season is nearly upon us! Training workloads at home have been increasing and we have recently returned from the first Equestrian TeamGBR training camp of the year.

After a good winter training program, Hurricain’s condition is excellent. His muscle tone and strength is much more developed than at this point in any previous year, and that is showing in the quality of the work that he is able to produce so we’re very pleased!

Rosanna’s first competition of the season will be Catton National Driving Trials, Derbyshire, on 5-7 May, which is also a World Championship qualification event. From there we will be competing at CAI2* Hopetoun, Edinburgh (26-28 May), and CAI2* Sandringham, Norfolk (29 June – 2 July), both of which are also qualification events.

Rosanna currently leads the TeamGBR World Championship qualification standings after winning the 2016 National Championships. The eventual prize is a place on the British team at FEI World Pony Driving Championships to be held in Minden, Germany, from 15-20 August.

The top two drivers in the standings after CAI2* Sandringham will earn a place on the team for the World Championships, with a third driver being chosen by a selection and ratification panel.

It will be an extremely busy few months as Rosanna also works to complete her PhD in Sports Psychology at the University of Exeter. Nonetheless, it’s an exciting season ahead and we look forward to sharing it all with SUCCEED!
